How can I recover a password to an Access database?

I am being asked by my employer to improve on a very old database that was
created before my time. I don't want to reinvent the wheel and would like to
see this database in design mode, but I am blocked by password protect. Is
there any way around this?

No one has the password? Sad.

Some older versions of Access could be cracked somewhat easily. If you
google Access Password Crack, you'll find people who would do it for a price.

On the off chance that the database has some home-grown security system, thy
opening it up while holding down the Shift key and see if that stops the
prompt for a password.
