How can I recover cut text in Word?

My husband was typing up a paper and wanted to cut the text from one UNSAVED
document and paste it into what he already had saved. He highlighted and cut
the text selection however, after he closed that window it would not allow
him to paste. Is there anything I could do to retrieve that for him?? Please
help!

If you're lucky enough to be running Norton SystemWorks (or whatever it's
called), you might have file versions saved somewhere (if it's turned
on...).

I used to run it a few years back and it saved my butt a few times!
