how can i recover work lost when a word document failed to save?

I spent aboutthree hours amending an existing Word document. I saved
multiple times along the way, but, when I went back to the file, it opened as
the document I began the revisions on, not as the fully revised version.

Any suggestions as to how I can recover this "unsaved" work?

Did you open this document from an email attachment? If so, it was saved in
a temporary folder and deleted when you closed the document (or Word).
