How can I reinstall Office XP on Windows XP with the Upgrade version

G

Gregg

I reinstalled Windows because I had forgotten my
password. All my files were kept in place but I had to
reinstall my software to get it into the registery which
was wipped out in the reinstall. My only problem is I
have the upgrade version and it can't find the previous
installation and aborts.

Are there any work arounds?

What did you have for the original installation? Use the same disks for
this installation and when Office asks, put in the QCD and point the
installation to it. Once verified, put back in the Office upgrade CD and
there you go.
