How can i remove Outlook reminder which has become corrupted?

I have an Outlook calendar entry which has been removed however its reminder
is still active. When reminder window pops-up the mentioned calendar entry is
listed within the reminder list but it cannot be dismissed as the other
entries. I get following error message if I try to dismis it: "Cannot open
the item for this reminder. Cannot Locate the recurrence information for this
appointment. Data has become corrupted". My employers help desk suggested
creating a new Outlook profile which i consider to be somewhat big solution
to a small problem.

Try using the /cleanreminders command line switch as described here:
