how can i repair a Corrupted database

S

Sermad Anwer

i had a table in my access database(.mdb) named TimeRecorder. i was trying to
delete old entries from that table. to do so i apply a filter for old
records, select all records and press delete button. at the mean while power
fluctuate causing my system to hang.i restart the system.but now my database
is not opening. i tryed to open through a dummy application, or MS SQL DTS
service to export to another database, create a new database and import that
database objects but all fail.

it always displays a message
" The microsoft jet database engine stoped the process beacse you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time "

First, always work on a copy of the database. Working on the original may
make it impossible for a repair service to fix it.

Download a copy of JetComp.exe:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;273956

Also have a look at the Microsoft KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;209137

Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at:

http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you
may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate
the rest.

Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving
corrupt databases. Try this URL:
