how can i replace an image in word newsletter template with mine

I recently downloaded the Technology newsletter template and would like to
replace the images with my own.

Unfortunately I seem to be doing something wrong and I can't get it to work.
I can delete the existing images but then when I try to replace them, they
either go in the wrong place, or are the wrong size or just don't appear at
all.

Does anyone know how to do this correctly and can explain it to me?

There are both MS Word and MS Publisher versions of the Technology newsletter.

Which app are you using and it is the 2003 or 2007 version?
