How can I retain OneNote custom flags on a new computer?

I have moved OneNote to a new computer by re-installing it. However, though I
also moved the content file with my existing "notes", the custom flags I had
set up do not appear on the new computer, and all the existing content has
lost their connection to my custom flags.

What do I do?

You should also carry the contents of:

[ProfileLocation]\Application Data\Microsoft\OneNote
Where [ProfileLocation] is something like: [C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName]

There are two important files there, that contain custom settings for OneNote:
1) Preferences.dat
2) Toolbars.dat
