how can I retrieve a document that was deleted from microsoft word

I typed a document in microsoft word and inadvertently deleted it before
closing word. How can i retrieve the deleted document?

If you never saved it, there is nothing to retrieve.

If you never saved it before, you can't. If you saved it at one point
in time and then deleted it, you could try an undelete tool. No
guarantee on success though.
