How Can I Save My Customized Commands in the Toolbar?

I'm using the 2008 Powerpoint for Mac. I went to the trouble to customize my toolbar and insert some of the commands that I use all the time, and much to my dismay all of the customization disappeared after I closed the program. Is there a way to save customized toolbars? Thanks SO much if you're able to help!
