How can I save using shortcuts to folders?

I had to have Windows XP reinstalled due to a problem with Norton. Before I
reinstalled, I could click on a folder that had folder shortcuts to go
directly to that folder (for example, since the folder shortcuts showed up, I
could “jump†while saving through a lot of directories directly to the folder
I wished to save in).
Now, when I go to save files I have created a folder with shortcuts that go
directly to the folder(s) I want to save in. While these remain visible in
explorer, they have become invisible when trying to save files. This affects
not only Office, but everything I try to save. I need to know how to make
folder shortcuts visible when I go to save a file so that can "jump" through
my rather complicated (though well organized) files system. Please help.
Thanks.

Dan,
I have a Shortcuts Folders on my desktop. I right click the destination
folder and drag it to the Shortcuts Folder and click Create a Shortcut Here.
When I do a Save As… I open the Shortcuts Folder and jump to the desired
folder.
Works great!

Thanks for the help. I did exactly what you said, the option to
"Create a Shortcut Here" was offered, I selected it and the file
shortcut was created. However, when I go to the shortcuts file on my
desktop the shortcut appears when exploring, but when conducting a
"Save As" the folder shortcut I hap placed in there is not visible. As
I stated earlier, for some reason, shortcuts won't show up when I
conduct a "Save As". Does anyone know what adjustment to my system I
may have to make? Thanks.
Dan
