How can I send a form result back to the person who filled it out?

I have a client whose membership registers online, at the client's website,
for luncheon meetings. I would like to have an automatic return of
"confirmation of registration" to the registant's email address. Front page
does not seem to have a function that will take the address from one location
on the form and use it to send a confirmation page back to the registrant.

Got any solution to this matter?

You'd need to use a server side script that features the auto-reply to the
sender.

The one here http://www.form2email.net/ may suit you;. There's a bit of
setting up of the perl script to do, but the instructions are very
comprehensive.

There are other form scripts at www.veign.com (a member of this newsgroup
and the expression web group runs this site & web design business)

Also try www.hotscripts.com - a very comprehensive resource.

Also http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/

I believe this one is commonly used: http://www.scriptarchive.com/ (Matt's
form-mail script).

I think most of these would have the auto-reply facility.
