How can I setup my pc so I can access links in MS Office products

How can set up my pc so I can click on web page links in office products
such as outlook and excel and it opens up the link in IE. Right now I keep
getting an error saying the process has been canceled and I have to copy the
link and then paste it in IE. Thanks.
