How can I show "baseline" dates in my plan without having to baseline?

I am merging 2 plans into one and I do not want the
baseline of the second plan to be in the merged project.
I have entered all of the data and have start and finish
dates listed accuratley but I know those will change once
I start entering actuals against the plan - any ideas?

Why don't you want the baseline? Comparison of the schedule after posting
changes/actuals with the way it was before you posted those changes is the
reason baselines exist. They really don't do anything else and have no
negative consequences. IMO, the baseline should reflect the plan as you
intend to work it. Even though you're bringing tasks into the plan from
another project, you wouldn't do that unless you intend to work them as part
of this project and so it would make sense to include them in this project's
baseline.
