How can I sort a numbered list by text following the numbers?

I periodically get a Word list consisting of rows containing a 4 digit number
(in order) followed by a space, then in column 5 name of person(s), followed
by space hyphen space, then text (usually ends at last column of single
line) i.e.:

nnnn name of person1/person2 - xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxx.

I would like to sort by, or create table or spreadsheet to sort by, person
name and text.

If this is a table, you can sort by any column (up to three columns, in
fact). If it's plain text, you can sort by Word 2 or Word 3 or whatever.
