How can I sort pictures by "date taken" in Picture Manager?

I'm new to Microsoft Picture Manager. I'd like to sort my pictures by the
date they were taken, but have not been able to achieve this using the "Sort
by date" option. The program must be sorting according to the date modified
or created, because the pictures are not arranged according to the date they
were actually taken. How can I achieve this?
