Is there any way of prohibiting modifications on a Project and it
Tasks by any team member

Is there some thing like closing a project in Project Server

The best way is to map Users to Groups
and Groups to Categories.

Assign appropriate permissions in Groups/Categories
and also select the Projects available for that Group/Category

All this can be done using Project Web Access..
- Logon with Administrative rights and move to "Admin" page..
- look for "Manage users and groups" .. configure user-groups
- use "Manage Security" --> "Categories" to create/modify Categories.

Hope this is what you were looking for..

If you are using Project Server 2003, you can do the following:

1. Use the Managed Time Periods feature to prevent team members from
entering progress in past closed time periods.
2. In the Build Team from Enterprise dialog, set the Booking value to
Proposed for each team member

If you are using Project Server 2002, you can do the following:

1. Make this a training and performance issue with team members
2. Save the completed project as an .mpp file then delete the project from
the Project Server database

Hope this helps.
