How can I stop my computer crashing

Resolution

Whenever I use word from Office (student & teacher edition 2003) on windows
XP home edition, it causes a stop error and my computer reboots itself. I
need to resolve this issue.

If it is also the Office applications that cause a STOP, it suggest a
Windows problem rather than an Office problem. Are you not able to open any
Office app?

Resolution

I can open all of the office applications but I can be typing a word document
and then the computer shuts down and restarts itself. It does not happen with
any of the other applications. I have been told that it is a software issue
not a windows problem.

That is completely different. This is usually a printer driver problem. Make
sure that you have the latest printer driver and then delete and reinstall
the printer, If it recurs, try installing a different printer - even if you
don't have one - such as the generic LaserJet 4.
