how can I stop my headers and footers from printing out

I have a Word document which needs to be both emailed and printed. In the
header and footer, we have a logo, a background image and our address so when
the document is emailed it looks like it is on letterhead. However, we also
want to print the document, but it is printed directly on to letterhead so we
don't need the contents of the header and footer to print out. Does anyone
know an easy way of doing this?

The short answer is that you need to format all the text as white and the
graphic as 100% brightness; they will still take up space but will not
print. How you accomplish this is what will vary. If you have used a
specific style for the text, you can modify the style (perhaps with a macro
to toggle it from Auto to White); similarly, you might have a macro to
toggle from 100% brightness to the default setting.
