How can I stop my newly installed Outlook 2003 from only opening .

I recently upgraded from outlook 2000 to 2003. Since then I can only open
Outlook 2003 in safe mode. Each time I try to open the application the screen
freezes at the configuration phase and then an error message comes up.

Apparently this is a known issue in the old versions of outlook 2000 and
2002. The solution with these programs was to find and rename either the
outcmd.dat or the extend.dat files. Problem is that I cannot find these files
in outlook 2003. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks in advance.

Open Windows Explorer. In the Address field, enter:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

and click Go. You'll see them.
