How can i stop word openning up when i click on other programmes?

Word 2003 keeps openning up every time i click on any other sites, i wanted
to delete it to try and stop it, but it would not let me go to remove
programmes, it just keeps openning up and going on about configuring a page
of script which is unreadable, i keep clicking cancel but it does no good,
it won't even let me on norton anymore, please help if you can?

Try running Detect and Repair from Word's help menu. This should reregister
Word correctly in Windows.

If other types of files still open Word, then you need to use Windows
Explorer to change their file association.
