How can I tell how many computers my Office product is good for?

Carl

I have MS Office Professional Plus 2007. Where can I find out how many
computers I can load it onto?

And if the answer is just one, how can I appropriately remove it from the
laptop and put it on the desktop?

Thank you.

Hi Carl,

If it's an OEM version, the license terms limit the installation to the device on which the software was pre-installed.

If it's a retail version, you can install MS Office Professional Plus 2007 on one desktop PC and one laptop, or on two laptops.

Uninstall it on one, Install it on the other.

The packaging sometimes tells you how many sites you can have installed at
once, the EULA always tells you.

If both machines are yours, then the suite will work even though you are
violating the license agreement. You have to claim the Stupid Me defense if
somebody comes to arrest you.

Not a very smart answer :-(

Why bother with the 'stupid me' defence when you can point to Jeff Strickland <[email protected]> as the person making himself
liable for the consequences by offering such advice ...

With my advice and $0.25, you can get a free cup of coffee.

Since this is a volume/enterprise license SKU for your company, please
consult your IT department. If this is your home use program, it is good
for one install. If it is neither, then you are in possession of pirated
software.
