how can I total the number of text entries in a table?

Lost in ExcelLand

I have a pretty large table (180 rows) with names, dates, etc., across 4
columns. I'd like to tally the number of dated entries in 3 of those
columns. Can it be done? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
