How can I transfer text from either notepad oriternet to word?

When attempting to copy a document to Microsoft Word from either Notepad or
from the internet (email), I highlight the area to be copied, right click,
select copy on the dropdown menu, bring up Word right click the space. The
drop down menu comes up with Cut, Copy and Paste all shaded. Whats wrong or
what am I doing wrong?

The easiest workaround is to start both Word and Notepad or your
internet application before you copy and paste.

If you got Word as part of Works Suite, the problem is the Microsoft Works
Suite Add-in for Word, which clears the Clipboard when you start Word. If
you're not using the Works Task Launcher to start Word, you can uninstall
the add-in through Windows Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs.
