My new system came with trial version of Office 2003. I didn't want it,
tried to install my old Work 97 ( I only use it because I can share files
with it that I can't with Works in XP). For some reason it wouldn't install
and kept installing 2003. So I went with that. A few weeks ago the trial
expired, froze all my files composed in it, I could open them but not edit.
Went to the purchase option and found it was $149, no thank you. Installed
the old Word 97. Tried to uninstall 2003 and found I could not use my Works
program, although all of the 2003 files had now been converted into good old
97. Went to System recovery, got my Works back but now I have this very
annoying popup that keeps trying to reinstall the trial but freezes up half
way and won't go away.
I can't get anyone alive or a link to tell me how to resolve this. Please.
Have pitty on this old person and tell me if you know how to resolve this
problem.
I want an outcome that will let me use my Word 97 (it is pokie but
comfortable--don't need bells and whistles), and also my Works (has all the
bells and whistles I need).
