How can I use numbers 004 & 008 in a field?

I have a Table with a Field of class numbers. Two of those classes are
number 004 and 008 but they lose the zeros in my table. What can I do
to correct this?

Either apply a format of "000" to the field or change it to a text field.
The choise is based on this question...

Will you ever have two entries like 008 and 0008 that need to be treated as
different values? If so, then you need to use a Text field. Otherwise the
formatting should work for you.
