How can I write various nuclear and chemical reactions in MS Word

Use the subscript and superscript character formatting for the nucleon and atom
counts and charges. The keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl+= for subscript and
Ctrl+Shift+= for superscript; both of them are toggles to turn the formatting on
or off.

An alternative is to use the Equation Editor (Insert > Object > Microsoft
Equation 3.0) or MathType (www.mathtype.com).
