how can I write protect a OneNote page

R

rbglenn

It seems like I'm inadvertently deleting pictures/text in OneNote too often
(I use vnc alot and if I fail to make a vnc session current by clicking in
it, I'm inadvertently typing in my OneNote pages)

Does anyone know a way to write protect particular OneNote pages or sections
to prevent this?

Thanks.

Nothing like what you want. ON is designed as a write/type anywhere
application. Being more careful when switching applications will certainly
help. You could also just close ON when you don't need it. It's pretty
quick to launch and close.

I haven't tried it but I suppose you could make the section Read-Only by
finding it with Windows Explorer, right-clicking and going to Properties.
That might work.

If you have the Windows TweakUI powertoy installed, you can use it to
turn on the X-Mouse feature. You don't have to actually click on a
window to make it current, just point to the window and it gets focus.
That won't protect OneNote (Lockable pages WOULD be a nice feature for
ON.) but it might help switch applications without having to remember
to click. I found it annoying but it might be worth trying.
