How can the number of words per cell in Excel be increased?

Joerg

Hi there!
I am working on an Excel spread sheet with a lot of text information. There
appears to be maximum number of words/characters set for each cell, so that
parts of the text information are not displayed. Regardless if I increase the
cell size.
Any feedback welcome.
Many thanks

The limit size of a cell is 32,736 characters although you can only display
up to 256 characters. You can see all the limits using the worksheet help
menu under

Excel specifications and limits

Add a linefeed every 100 characters.

100 chars>Alt + Enter>100 chars>Alt + Enter.

If you actually read the help on specs and limits you would find that you
can display 1024 characters............not 256.

Once the number of words in a cell becomes excessive, one approach is to
use a hyperlink to another document, perhaps Notepad, which contains all
the information you want to display for that cell.

Can you be more specific with your instructions? I've tried a number of
different combinations and all that happens is a line return, which gives me
even less space in the cell. Thanks!
