Just found this on eBay...

Can anyone explain how on earth this can be a legit copy? I assume it
has to be if eBay allow it!

Cheers

Tom

Ye gads, you're naive! There must be 5million+ items advertised on eBay
every day worldwide. You really think that eBay staff personally vet each
one before it's allowed to be auctioned?! eBay is the perfect place for
selling stolen goods, pirated software, illegally copied movies, CDs, etc.
In fact, there was a huge case here about 18 months ago where a gang had
stolen around 3,000 mobile phones and were auctioning them off at £20-£100 a
pop - and we're talking things like camera phones, Blackberries, PDAs, etc.
They set themselves up with a legitimate looking shop front and eBay was
none the wiser until they got a call from the Metropolitan Police.

Just because something's on eBay doesn't make it legit - in fact, someone
once likened eBay to those sellers you see in London, particularly in the
West End, selling knock off Calvin Klein jeans for £20.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.

99.96% certain to be a fake copy.

If you suspect it's a bogus copy, report the seller to eBay.

They won't do anything, believe you me. I am currently considering (and as I
am on disability it is something I have to look very carefully at) suing
eBay (and/or their debt collection agency) for harassment. For the last
couple of months (well it began back in September, then stopped, then
recommenced in January), I have received rather nasty 'final demand' notices
from a DCA called Intrum Justitia claiming I owe eBay around £500 in
seller's fees. Now, I can count the number of items I've listed on the
fingers of one and a half hands - I am primarily a buyer, *NOT* a seller and
there is no way on this planet or any other I could have run up a bill for
that amount. My father and I calculated that I would have to have sold in
the region of £20K's worth to have amassed that; my father has demanded that
they (eBay) show me an intemised invoice, but none has been forthcoming,
just more threatening letters and phone calls.

They appear to have dried up now but, if it all starts up again, I shall be
consulting a solicitor because I believe I have a firm case for harassment.
