How can you add a scroll bar into a text box?

How can you add a scroll bar into a text box? I can find the scroll bar icon
but it seems not to work. in the box. Word seems to place any text after the
bar so uou can not scroll down it.

Can Anyone Help?

Can you clarify what kind of text box you're talking about? The kind you
insert from the Drawing toolbar or the Insert menu? A text form field? An
ActiveX text box from the Control Toolbox?
