how can you change the default page size in Publisher?

I am having problems setting my Publisher 2003 default page size and saw a
post that said
"Set your paper size in your printer driver before you set your page size."
How do I do that?
My problem is that when I open Publisher to a "Blank Print Publication" I
assume that it is set at 8.5" x 11" as it always was when I used Windows
2000. Now, with my new cpu (XP) after trying repeatedly to get it to print
on an 8.5" x 11" page and it overlaps, I finally recheck my settings, change
the View In to Inches (rather than the blasted Centimetres it always is set
at (BTW can you change THAT to inches as a default too?) ) I note that it is
actually set at A4 (210mm x 297mm) in my Printer settings.
Have you any idea how to modify that? I have an HP2200 All In One, that
worked just fine in Windows 2000 prior to my upgrading to XP.
Please advise soonest if you would be so kind.
Thank you!

Tools, options, general tab, change to inches.
Are all your Office applications defaulting to A4? If this is the case, open the
printers folder in the control panel, right-click your printer, properties,
click the Printing Preferences button, there should be a paper size, set letter
as the default. Every printer is different.

Thank you so much Ed!

Change the Regional Settings in the Control Panel to the United States -
pretty much the only country left that officially uses that system.

Start > Printers and Faxes
Right-click your printer > Properties
Locate the Page Size options and modify them to Letter-sized.

Mary -- thank you. I got a new printer a month ago, and my first use of it in
Pub2003 was for a 4x6 photo. Thereafter whenever I opened Pub2003 the Blank
Print Publication would go to that size. Just now, I decided to check this
forum, since I remember having had the same problem with another printer a
couple years ago. Your solution outlined below solved the problem for me.
Thanks again from a grateful user.
Bill
