How can you move and/or copy issues

B

Bob Schroen

In our environment it some times is required to create a second or third
project to represent a major phase shift. But when we do that all
documentation, issues and risks (stored in sharepoint) stay with the
original project.

Is there a way to copy or move them to the new project?

Thanks in advance - Bob

you can use the STSADMIN.exe tool to backup the orginal project wss site and
then restore it to the new site. The following URL may help.

hope this helps.

Hi Bob,

You need to associate Previous proejct plan's sharepoint URL to new
project

Steps:

1) PWA -> Admin -> Manage Windows SharePoint Services -> Manage
SharePoint sites

2) Highlight Project A

3) Click on Edit Site Address

4) Copy the URL (example: projectserver_206) and paste it on Notepad

5) CLick Cancel

6) Highlight Project B

7) Click on Edit Site Address

8) Choose the option "Remove Sharepoint URL"

9) Click OK

10) Highlight Project B

11) Click on Edit Site Address

12) choose the option "Enter new sharepoint site URL"

13) Paste the contents from notepad

14) Click OK

This way, you can assoicate the complete site ( Issues, documenys and
risks etc.)

Thanks

5) Click Cancel

6) Highlight Project B

7) Click on Edit Site Address

8) Choose the option "Remove Sharepoint URL"

9) Click OK

10) Highlight Project B

11) Click on Edit Site Address

12) choose the option "Enter new sharepoint site URL"

13) Paste the contents from notepad ( or Type the URL of the Project A)

14) Click OK

This way, you can assoicate Project A's Issues, documents and risks
etc.to Project B

Thanks
