How can you replace all spaces with tabs for an entire document?

I need to know how to replace all spaces in a document with tabs. I tried
using the Find Replace feature but kept tabbing out of the Replace All box.
Is there a way to

a. put a "TAB" in the Replace box OR
b. another way to accomplish this same thing w/o using Find/Replace?

I need to be able to apply this to an entire document w/o putting the tabs
in myself.

Instead of trying to type a tab into the Replace box, enter the code ^t (or
click the More button, then the Special button, and choose Tab Character
from the list).
