How Come My Display Colors are Grey?

When I installed Microsoft Office to my new computer the background display
colors are grey and not the blue colors that they are supposed to be on the
toolbars and on the other areas of the program. This looks strange. It is
on all the office software. Outlook, Word etc. Does anyone know how to fix
this?

If you have installed Office in Windows XP then most possible reason could be
the desktop theme you have currently assigned in Windows. I think you are
using Windows Classic theme instead of Windows XP theme.

To change this right-click on desktop, choose properties and select Windows
XP theme.

Let us know, if it works.

Yes, that is what it is. I changed my desktop to a picture. So, now, it has
gone back to the Xp look and the picture that I put on my desktop is gone.
Does this mean that if I want a picture on my desktop, then the rest of the
stuff goes to Classic view? How can I have both?

I think you are not actually changing the wallpaper or background picture.
You are changing it through out the Theme tab of Display Properties. To just
change the background, right click on Desktop, then choose "Properties",
click on "Desktop" tab and choose the appropriate "Background" from the list.

Best of Luck and let us know if it solve the problem.

Thank you very much! That works. I have been changing it by going to the
Control Panel and Display. I can't believe it makes that much of a
difference. But all is OK now.
