How come Word 2002 doesn't display graphics on my 21" monitor?

I didn't have any trouble viewing graphics until I got my 21" monitor--and I
don't have problems viewing graphics in programs other than Word. I have
tried adjusting resolution and refresh rate. With Word, the graphics
sometimes appear, but mostly not, and when they do appear, any action I take
makes them disappear again. What's going on?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshooting. If this
fixes the problem, then you might want to check the website of
the manufacturer of your video card/graphics adapter to see if
there is an updated driver available.

G&O: Yes, that worked. Thank you!!! Any negative consequences to reducing the
accel settings? (I've got no idea what those settings do.)

Depending on how much you reduced the acceleration, some
graphics-intensive game programs might display properly.

Thanks again!

Changing monitor settings doesn't really work that well. There's still
problems although it make some change. I think there is an obvious problem
here. Enough that I'll have to consider some other product.
