How did Office XP become Office 2003

A few years ago, I upgraded to Office XP from Office 97. I have a CD that
says OFFICE XP Standard version 2002 that I used. I've noticed that all
Office applications I have on my computer says Word 2003, Excel 2003, etc. I
don't recall every purchasing or installing such a thing as Office 2003, nor
do I own a disc that says Office 2003. How did I end up with Office 2003 when
the only thing I have is an Office XP upgrade version 2002

Obviously someone upgraded your system and did not give you the disks. It's
not a free upgrade and programs do not self-upgrade. I would suggest talking
to everyone who has access to your computer.

Okay, so there is a difference between Office XP and Office 2003 then? I
thought maybe a service pack that I downloaded might have upgraded it

I stand corrected, I just found my Office 2003 disk. I thought I was losing
my sanity there.

They look different visually; the icons and such are different. There are a few
new features but the main difference is under the hood. Office XP was something
of a bugfarm. 2003 is more stable.

No. That doesn't happen.

You still could be - that's outside of the scope of this newsgroup. ;-)
