In Word 2002, everytime I open a document there is a message in
the bottom left corner saying "Requesting virus scan". I'm trying
to turn this off because I know my documents are clean, and the
scan unnecessarily delays the opening of the document. Even a
new, blank document will try to do a scan, which is total overkill
for an obviously blank document. Problem is I can't find where to
turn this off or disable it.
I use Norton Antivirus (NAV) 2005, and unchecked "Enable Office
Plug-in" in that program, rebooted, but it made no difference.
I googled the problem, and none of the things that came up,
helped.
Does anyone have the solution to this?
TIA,
George
