how do a find RECENT DOCUMENTS?

i CANNOT LOCATE A FILE THAT SEEMS TO HAVE VANISHED. IS THERE A RECENT
DOCUMENTS FILE WHERE I MIGHT BE ABLE TO LOCATE IT?

Let me guess: You received a document by email, edited it, saved it, closed
the file, and now it's gone?
