You've inadvertently answered your own question by using the word "header";
in order to get your name and the page number to show up on every page, just
add these details to the header. To do that, click on View>Header and
Footer, put your name in there and insert the page number by clicking on the
# icon in the Header & Footer toolbar that shows up.
For future reference: the next time you post, remember to include details,
such as the version of Word and the version of Mac OS X, for instance. That
way, you make the lives of those who are answering questions in here much

I am typing an essay for my college literature class and the professor wants
our name and page numbers added to each page; how do I accomplish this?I know
how to insert page numbers, but can I put my last name on there with it (e.g.
