how do find and eliminate duplicate photos in the MS Cffice Pictu.

Somehow I have duplicated some of my folders containing photos. I think I did
this somewhere inbetween my canon software, HP Photosmart software, Picassa,
Photoshop Elements 2.0, my documents etc. NOw my hard drive is slow and it
just shouldn't be. I thought I could use the MS photo manager from now on to
keep this from happening, but I need a way to find and eliminate all photos
that have accidentally been duplicated. Can this be done in the MS picture
manager? and if not where on my computer and with which program can I do
this? I need help fast. I am a watercolor artist [no left brain specialties,
just major right brain function!] and I have several large commissions coming
due and I am very frustrated with this hodge-podge of reference photos!!!!!
Thank you, Susan

Duplicate (multiple copies) of files won't normally "slow down the hard
drive". You can use the "find files and folders" under Start, Search to
locate duplicated folders by searching for a file thats know to be in
the duplicated folder and then after making sure you have 2 copies of
the whole folder and files, simply delete the undesired folder. What is
more likely to have caused your system to "slow down" is a malware
infestation. Do you have current anti-virus software and a firewall?
