How do I ad an anchor point to a new shape.

I have edited a router shape from a vision stencil. My question is how to add the anchor points back to that shape that will automatically snap to the connection points on a 19 inch rack image. I don't want to add regular connection points I need the entire image to snap to the connection points on the rack and to resize when the rack is resized.
