How do I add a file attachment field within a Section?

I have a Section that only appears when the checkbox for that info is
checked. I want to have one of the fields in that section that appears be a
file attachment section but when I make it so, it says, "Control cannot store
this data type". I assume it means the Section control. Is there a way
around this?

Hello Dianah,

I did all the steps you mentioned and it works fine. I inserted a check box
and a File attachment control in a section and put a conditional formatting
on the section to hide it when the check box is selected. I dont see any
error.

can you explain your problem with more details?

OK, I did not explain this very well. The checkbox is not in this section,
it is in a table above the section. The conditional formatting is applied to
the section properties telling it to appear when that checkbox in the table
is checked. The file attachment field is in a table within a table attached
to a toa Text (string) Field (element) Data Source. Originally the field I
want to use as a file attachment data source was also a Text (string) Field
(element) attached to a Data Source. I have three two column rows in this
table within the table that is not attached to any Data Source. Maybe the
problem is the way I have it built, but I have tried several combinations and
none have worked. What I need is to have this area where these three rows of
info can be hid unless that checkbox is checked and one of these rows/items
can be a file attachment field and the other can be simply text fields. Does
that make sense? I will keep trying combinations and post if I am successful.

I got to thinking that maybe I needed to update to SP2 and did so and this
worked fine. I have no idea why and am so glad it is working I don't care.
