I downloaded a free .TTF on the web, and tried by copy/pasting the file into
the WINDOWS/Fonts folder. How do I get it to work in my copy of Microsoft
Word and other OFFICE applications?

Please help.

What version of Windows? If Windows XP, open Windows Explorer and navigate
to the Windows\Font folder. From the menu, choose File - Install New Font,
etc.

Ok, I followed you up until I couldn't find an option "Install New Font" as
you said. I am using Windows XP. Any additional ideas?

Perhaps you aren't viewing the Fonts folder? If you are viewing the
folder you placed your downloaded font in then you need to open your
Control Panel to access the Fonts folder.
