Hold down the Alt key then press "a","i","b" sequentially. If this is
not the desired method. Write a Macro to do it for you. Please view the
appropriate section in Word Help for further instruction.

Assign a keyboard shortcut to it:

Tools menu - Customize - Keyboard button near bottom
Under Categories: select Table
Under Commands: select TableInsertRow or TableInsertRowAbove or
TableInsertRowBelow

If there are any keystrokes already assigned they would display in the
Current Keys box.

In the Press New shortcut Key: box type your key sequence (the Alt key is
least used) Try Alt + R or Alt + 1-9 (any number)
it should say [unassigned] in the Currently assigned to: box. If not, i.e.
assigned, pick another sequence.

Pick the template you want to save this in.
Click Assign.
That should do it.
Note: if you choose Normal and then later replace normal or do a detect and
repair you will have to reassign the keystrokes.
