How do I add a prefix to page numbers?

I am creating a manual for my club and I need to add a prefix before page
numbers. The manual will be put in three ring binders and will require
frequent updating. We need to put this in a format that will allow updating
only certain sections or pages without having to reprint the entire manual.
If I number the pages 1,2,3.... and later add more information that would
require that an additional page be added to a section in the middle, the rest
of the manual will be incorrectly numbered or I will have to reprint the
entire manual for the page numbers to be correct. I would like to have each
section start at A1,A2,A3......B1,B2,B3.....C1,etc. I also need the page
numbers to appear in the TOC.
Any help would be most greatly appreciated.
