How do I add a second placeholder text block to a master slide?

This is probably a simple question...but I can't figure it out after reading
the help system and on-line help.

I have added an additional master slide to my deck. I want to have two text
boxes (and a title box) for placeholder text. When using this slide design in
the presentation, I want to be able to change the text in each of these
pre-designed place holders.

Here is what I can't figure out. My original master slide (in master slide
view mode) has two text boxes (these have a dashed line around them). I
duplicated one of these boxes thinking I would get a new placeholder text
block (complete with similar thin dashed line around it).

But I don't.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You are doing nothing wrong. You can't create additional text boxes in the
PowerPoint master. You must work with the two that are provided.

Correction... You can add a text box, you can not add a place holder.

Thank you for the correction Austin. My fingers were typing faster than I was
thinking...
