How do I add an equals sign to a cell that already has numbers in

I have hundreds of cells that already have some sort of function in them but
do not know how to add the equals (=) sign to each cell automatically instead
of going through each cell individually which will take forever. Please
help. Thank You!

I can think of the Replace function but you need to shows some
examples of how your functions look like.

the problem is there is no function. it basically has a bunch of numbers.
6*12.99, or 4*2.99 etc. and it keeps going. i just need to add = sign in
each cell and not lose the rest.

One method I tested.

Assuming data is in column A

In B1 enter ="="&A1 and copy down.

Now copy the range in column B and Paste special>values>ok>esc

Now Data>Text to Columns>Next>Next>Column Data Format>Finish.

Alternate..........use a UDF

Function EvalCell(RefCell As String)
Application.Volatile
EvalCell = Evaluate(RefCell)
End Function

You have data like 234*45 or 1+56

=EvalCell(A1)

OR... Under Tools>Options>Transition select "Transition Formula Entry"
then select the whole column and choose Data>Text to Columns>Finish.
(Uncheck this option after)
