How do I add background sound in an Office 2003 HTML document?

J

JerryLee

Using the "web Tools" toolbar, I click the "sound" icon and get the following
message:

"This object was created in HTMLInlineSoundCtl. This application is not
available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly
installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed."

How can I fix this problem so that I can insert background music in an HTML
document created in Office 2003 or is there a workaround?

A known problem that Windows XP SP-2 caused - Microsoft is aware of it (also
impacts video inserts) and is working on a fix.

Milly, thank you for the info. I'll be waiting for the update, hope they get
it fixed soon.

March 2005 and Microsoft still has not issued a fix. I guess they just don't
care that they destroyed an expensive program with their SP2 fix.

O never said it was a priority fix, and I for one, hope they keep it broken.
Nothing more annoying than getting a Word document that plays music and
videos. That is what other programs are for.

That was a rude response. I use the web tools to create simple html pages
for my web site. It's very easy to use and effective for someone, like me,
who is not experienced in web design. It's the reason I purchased Office 2003
and I feel that Microsoft owes me a fix or a refund.
