I am trying to create a rain effect on a slide. I can download screensavers
of rain and videos, but I want to add rain over the current pictures in the
slideshow.

Help! Any ideas?

The best way to solve it is to convert the PowerPoint to other format then
you can add the anination over picture.

You can ...

Create a bunch of rain "streaks and individually animate them.
Create a looping motion Gif is these streaks (the rest of the area
transparent) and overlay this

Does your version support simultaneous animations?
Does your version of PowerPoint support GIF animations?

Post back with the version so that we can better advise.

First is to figure out what will represent the snow/rain. Options would be
added a number of small circles from the PPT shapes and grouping. Or finding
an image with transparent background (.gif or .png).

Second is animating the snow/rain to fall. I would recommend placing the
image above the actual slide and using a motion path to make it fall or
place the image under the actual slide and use a Fly In animation (set to
slow or very slow) to make it fall.

Just a few ideas to get you started.
